How do I back up or restore my ledger?
Open Me → Data & privacy → Data protection and export a full backup. Keep it somewhere you can access independently of this app, such as a folder you choose in Files.
Backups contain records and saved images and are not password-encrypted. Share them carefully. Restoring a backup replaces the current ledger after confirmation, so export the current ledger first if you want to keep it.
MoneyJot does not sync your ledger or automatically back it up to iCloud. We cannot recover a lost ledger from our servers.
Can I use MoneyJot offline?
Yes, core manual bookkeeping works offline. Refreshing currency and cryptocurrency reference rates needs a connection. Speech recognition may need an Apple language-model download first; photos stored in iCloud may also need to download.
Why is image or voice recognition unavailable?
Recognition depends on device support, language, permissions and available Apple models. Check access in iOS Settings. Use manual entry whenever recognition is unavailable, and check the amount, currency, name and account before saving recognized details.
Does an account connect to my bank?
No. Accounts are local records you create and update. MoneyJot does not request bank passwords, synchronize bank balances or execute transactions. Reference exchange rates and prices are estimates and can become outdated.
How is working time estimated?
Work-time equivalents use your work and income settings and the relevant spending amount. Update these settings when your circumstances change. The estimate gives context, rather than deciding whether you should make a purchase.
How do I delete my data?
Use Me → Data & privacy → Data protection → Clear all local data and confirm both prompts. Export a backup first if needed. External backups and original photos remain wherever you saved them. Read the privacy policy for retention details.
Report a problem
Email support@chaobuilds.com with your app version, iOS version and the steps that caused the problem. Remove private amounts and account information from screenshots. Please do not send bank credentials or your entire ledger.
